I loved a Wrinkle in Time and the Lloyd Alexander books at his age, but he's into realism, mostly. They were Lord of the Rings/Narnia/A Wrinkle in Time kids. If there was no plot and adventure, it was boring. I might want to read them though. Sounds like the sort of stuff I used to imagine as a child.xhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17866348942612559536noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2046663689477874544.post-44776293936207814532008-06-06T11:59:00.000-05:002008-06-06T11:59:00.000-05:00Looks like an interesting book. Any other recommendations for island books? (Please, nothing written by Jimmy Buffet.)Kevinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11334992119488750486noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2046663689477874544.post-20078121862619916962008-06-05T21:40:00.000-05:002008-06-05T21:40:00.000-05:00Tove Jansson was a woman! Good thing I read your blog is all I can say.

This book sounds lovely. I don't like reading long long summaries of books, so yours is more than fine! Also, your observation that not much has to happen in a novel (under the right conditions) applies equally to short stories. Sometimes just a little is more than enough.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
