I had a chance earlier today to talk to poet David Barber. Barber is poetry editor of The Atlantic, and he's the author of two collections: The Spirit Level won the Terrence Des Pres Prize, and his latest collection, published last year, is Wonder Cabinet. We discussed the role of poetry for a general interest audience, his use of nonce forms, and the difficulty of the haiku, among other things. Check it out, at the Writers at Cornell blog.
